Dusk keeps its palette dark and its detail precise. The kurta is a relaxed, straight shape in deep black tissue silk, with a wide boat neckline and dropped shoulders that let the long sleeves fall loose.
Design Details
A border of small hand-embroidered leaves in red, orange, teal and gold traces the neckline and continues along the shoulder line and down each sleeve. At the center front, a single stylized flower rises from a base of gold fronds, its petals worked in red and orange and its stem framed by gold scrolls. Placed high on the chest, it reads almost like a brooch.
The sleeves end in the same leaf border, finished with clusters of small gold beads that move with every gesture. Wide-leg pants in matching black carry a leaf border at the hem, so the color appears again at the floor. The leaves are worked in resham silk thread and outlined in kora and dabka, fine coiled metallic threads.
The back is left plain, and the tissue silk has a soft sheen that keeps the black from looking flat.
