Ferouza sets turquoise against black and lets that contrast do the work. Cut in tissue silk as a long kaftan, it falls to the lower calf in a clean column, with a notched band collar and wide sleeves that open toward the wrist.
Design Details
Down the center front runs a long line of round buttons, each worked in turquoise beads, drawing a column of color from the collar to below the waist. At the cuffs, a row of small turquoise drops hangs from a gold-toned beaded edge, so the sleeves catch the light whenever they move.
The most distinctive detail sits at the hip: a slim embellished panel in turquoise and gold, framed in hand-worked beads and resham silk-thread embroidery and finished with a small floral spray and a single turquoise drop. It reads almost like a piece of jewelry fastened to the garment.
The back is left clean, keeping the silhouette long and uninterrupted, and matching black pants complete the set.
